About

As of 2017, the UN estimates that 785 million people lack basic drinking water services, 673 million still practice open defecation, and 2 out of 5 people on earth do not have a basic handwashing facility. Lack of proper WaSH services increases the burden of disease families experience and impacts people’s ability to work, be educated, and pursue their full potential. The NC State Global WaSH Student Chapter, formed in the fall of 2019, seeks to educate students on these global issues and find ways for students to engage in responsible and meaningful ways.
