Data Privacy Month: Two-Factor Authentication at NC State

During Data Privacy Month, the Office of Information Technology is offering a “Two-Factor Authentication at NC State” workshop from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 in Room 110 of the Avent Ferry Technology Center.

Two-factor authentication (also known as multi-factor or 2-step) is simply a two-step login process that adds an extra layer of security for your most important NC State accounts and services. NC State uses two multi-factor solutions: Google 2-Step Verification for Google accounts and Duo to protect Shibboleth-enabled services, like the Mypack Portal and WolfWare. In this class, you will:
* Learn the risks to you and to campus from phishers and other cyber criminals.
* Learn the benefits of two-factor authentication.
* Learn how two-factor protects you and campus from cyber threats.
* Have the opportunity to set up your account with Duo and Google 2-Step Verification. Please bring a mobile device to complete the setup process.
