Fall Elections Process

  • Each Fall, students have the opportunity to run for the following positions:
    • First-Year Student Senate (10 seats)*
    • Graduate and Lifelong Education Student Senate (2 seats)
    • Any other open Senate seats

*Students are eligible to run for first year seats if this is their first fall semester at NC State, whether it be as a freshman or transfer student

Fall ’17 Election Checklist and Timeline

  • Friday, August 18th at 8 AM:  Filing for Candidacy Opens
  • Monday, August 28, 2017 at 5 PM:  Filing for Candidacy Closes
    • Attend one of two All Candidates Meetings
    • Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 5 PM (Talley 4140):  All Candidates Meeting
    • Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 6:30 PM (Talley 4101):  All Candidates Meeting

    • Draft your Candidate Bio
    • Note: If you cannot attend one of the All Candidates Meetings, send a rep.
  • Monday, September 4, 2017: Campaigning Begins – 8:00 AM
  • Wednesday, September 6, 2017: Draft Ballot Published Online
  • Friday, September 8, 2017: Final Ballot Published Online
    • Submit your Candidate Bio by 5:00 PM
  • Monday, September 11, 2017: Voting Opens – 8:00 PM
    • Submit your second Finance Report by 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday, September 12, 2017: Voting Closes – 8:00 PM
    • Submit your third Finance Report by 8:00 PM
    • Fall Election Reveal – 9:00 PM
  • Thursday, September 14, 2017: Runoff Voting from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
