Committee on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access

  The Committee on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) is empowered to:

  • Review matters relating to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access for NC State students,
    both internal and external to the University.
  • Review matters relating to the accessibility of Student Government as representatives to
    the Student Body
  • Review matters relating to the accessibility of the Student Body’s ability to join Student
    Government
  • Coordinate with the Diversity Outreach Department on matters relating to diversity,
    equity, inclusion, and access on behalf of the Student Body.
  • Coordinate with the Committee on Public Affairs on matters relating to external policies
    and regulations that impact the University’s ability to be an inclusive and accessible
    campus
  • Coordinate with the Board of Elections on matters relating to the Student Body’s ability
    to engage and join Student Government.
  • Coordinate with the NC State Association of Student Governments Delegation on matters
    relating to equity, inclusion, diversity, and access in relation to the UNC system.
  • Prepare reports on the committee’s findings relating to diversity, equity, inclusion, and
    access – and the continuity of this committee – into future Sessions to be submitted to the
    Student Body President, Student Senate President, the Senate Historian, and the Student
    Senate by the close of the final Senate meeting of the Fall semester and Sine Die of the 100th Session

Committee on Continuity, Organizational Records, and Engagement

The Continuity, Organizational Records, and Engagement

 (CORE) is empowered to:

  • Review the Student Body Constitution and Statutes for rules relating to the preservation,
    codification, and publication of Student Government records.
  • Prepare recommendations and legislation to help codify the preservation of records in the
    Student Body Statutes.
  • Discover and preserve documentation from the University Archives regarding the
    activities of the Student Government for the past 100 Sessions.
  • Reach out to past Student Government Officials to record past activities and records of
    Student Government.
  • Develop a 5-year strategic plan for gathering, recording, and preserving Student
    Government activities and records to be enacted by future Student Government Officials.
  • Develop a continuity plan for how Student Government will maintain and preserve
    records moving forward.
  • Prepare reports on the committee’s findings, 5-year strategic plan, and committee
    activities to be submitted to the Student Body President, Student Senate President,
    Student Senate Historian, and the Student Senate by the close of the final Senate meeting
    of the Fall semester and Sine Die of the 100th Session.
