CQC Winter Championship

For our last tournament of the season, the team went to a tournament hosted by UNCG: the CQC Winter Championship! The Carolinas Quidditch Conference consists of teams from throughout the Carolinas, and this tournament was an excellent opportunity to play against great teams from across the state.

We started out the day strong with a win against USC! Next, we played App and came out with another victory! Although we then lost to Duke, the team made history.  This was the first time we were within snitch range against Duke, and it shows how far our team has come! We finished out pool play with a record of 2-1.

Going into bracket play, we won against UNCC (who kindly provided everyone with delicious treats from Panera!).  Our next match was against a community team, Southern Storm.  This team has an impressive roster of veteran players, and going into the game we knew it would be a tough match.  With an amazing snitch catch by Travis Brown, we won and proceeded to the final game of the day!

Although we lost the final to USC, the team truly tried their hardest.  Everyone put forth their best effort, and we could not have asked for a better way to end the fall semester! The team will continue to work and improve, and we can’t wait to get back on the pitch next semester. Go Pack!
