Audio Submitters
If submitting a song, we’d like you to submit lyrics in a separate document alongside your audio file so that they may be incorporated into the physical book if your piece is chosen.
All audio pieces will be uploaded to Soundcloud, so WAV, FLAC, AIFF, or ALAC are the accepted file types. Soundcloud also supports some lossy formats (which means your audio may be less clear but are still supported) including OGG, MP2, MP3, AAC, AMR, and WMA. If your audio is not one of these file types, we will not be able to upload it to Soundcloud.
Video Submitters
Video pieces will be uploaded to Windhover’s YouTube channel (will be made.) YouTube supports many file formats for videos, including: .MOV, .MPEG-1, .MPEG-2. MPEG4, .MP4, .MPG, .AVI, .WMV, .MPEGPS, and . FLV.
The length limit for video pieces is 20 minutes; we have to make sure the file can be compressed and linked in our book.
Some ideas or things we’d like to see in this year’s volume could be: stop motion, animation, claymation, music videos, video essays, and landscape-y short films. (think Wes Anderson, European summer, Call Me By Your Name). If you choose to submit something outside of these, your piece will still be reviewed equally!
