To Apply:

  1. Prepare your resume
  2. Pick the Instagram page or website of one of three preeminent Southern collegiate magazines: Talisman (@wkutalisman), Distraction (@distractionmag) or Midas (@midas.mag)
    • Analyze your chosen Instagram page or website, using the questions below as a guide:
    • What does the page or website do successfully? What does it do unsuccessfully (if anything)? How does it appeal to a collegiate audience? If you became promotion director, what would you do differently?
    • There is no length requirement for your analysis: an abundance of insight, not an abundance of words, is the goal.
  3. Create a recruitment ad for Roundabout!
    • The ad can be any genre: a video, social media post, print ad, website leaderboard, ect. This folder has some past examples if you need inspiration
    • If you are making a print or website ad, please use the dimensions listed in the rate card folder
    • The other editors and I are available to answer any questions or give information to help you create this, just like we would be if you become promotion director.
    • If you give us permission, we’ll use your ad!
  4. Email your resume, Instagram or website review, and recruitment ad to roundabout-editor@ncsu.edu by 11/21 (the Tuesday before Thanksgiving break). Please copy amjavan@ncsu.edu and enpeedin@ncsu.edu on the email as well.
  5. After we review your application, we’ll schedule a brief interview (most likely over zoom or google meet)!
