Gabby Brown | President

My name is Gabby Brown and I am a second-year student and teaching assistant in the MSTC program. This is my first year as president of TCA. Last year, I was the TCA Secretary. My research interests include user experience and information architecture. I’m currently teaching ENG 331, preparing for my capstone, and Interning with OIT as a technical writer. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, working out, playing board games, and spending time with friends. I’m looking forward to helping host an informative and engaging SpeedCon. 

Alexa Cortes | Vice President & GSA Representative

My name is Alexa Cortes and I am a second year MSTC student and graduate TA. This is my first year as Vice President of TCA and I have also taken on the role of the GSA Representative. My research interests include communication in the workplace between teams of technical writers as well as communication between individuals in the workplace. I am also interested in sustainable agriculture and animal farming. As a science writing intern at North Carolina Sea Grant, I have had a great opportunity to look into sustainability in wastewater management, which in turn affects agriculture management. I am excited to use these skills to help bring together the MSTC community.

Bella Wick | Treasurer

My name is Bella Wick, and I’m a second-year student and TA in the MSTC program. This is my second year as Treasurer for TCA. My research interests include project management and online design. I enjoy working part time at a local toy store, and I hope to open my own one day. I am also a volunteer-based employee with Grimsy Literary Magazine as the Managing Editor, Copyeditor, and Layout Editor. I’m looking forward to creating a community within the MSTC program this year

Ben Kaiserski | Secretary

My name is Ben Kasierski and I’m a first-year TA and student in the MSTC program. My research interests include user experience and software documentation. Before joining the MSTC, I produced marketing content for companies such as Three Ships and Eastman Kodak Company. As secretary, I hope to bring a team-spirited attitude to TCA so we can engage with MSTC students and bring our community closer together. When I’m not taking notes for class, I enjoy running, traveling, and checking out whatever’s new in theaters.

Eden Miller | Social Media Chair

My name is Eden Miller, and I’m a third-year student in the English: Rhetoric and Professional Writing undergraduate program. I hope to enter the MSTC program after I graduate with my bachelor’s degree. My main interests are user experience, software development, and the sociological aspects of technology in our society. I currently work in digital marketing at the start-up company – GREENstick – and am excited to use those skills in my role as social media coordinator.

Ari Berntsen | Event Coordinator
