Graduate Student Association

About Us

The Graduate Student Association, formed on October 6, 1958, is a student-led group that represents and acts on behalf of Graduate Students at North Carolina State University to improve the satisfaction and scholarship of our members during their time here. The GSA serves Graduate Students by participating in student government, appointing students to university standing committees, and developing internal programs to assist graduate students with research and funding. We are here to help – if there’s anything you need that you can’t find on our website, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

GSA Chapters

Most departments at NC State with Graduate degree programs have GSA chapters that tend to the specific needs of the Graduate Students of their department. Each department with a GSA Chapter is responsible for sending one of their members to the monthly GSA all council meeting to represent them. Listed below are all of the departments with officially recognized GSA chapters – if you do not see your department listed below, contact us for information on starting a chapter of the GSA.

Standing Committees

The GSA ensures that Graduate Students have a voice by appointing student representatives to serve on University Standing committees. If you’re interested in serving on a committee, contact the Vice President of External Affairs. More information is available on the Standing Committee Website.
