Join us for a tour of the Compost Facility and Research Cooperative, and learn about NC State’s closed-loop organic waste management system. Our facility processes all of the organic waste collected on campus into a nutrient-rich soil amendment that is utilized in the campus landscape and at the Agroecology Farm.

Get outdoors this LDOC and give back by volunteering in The Women’s Center local community garden! The Women’s Center of Wake County works to prevent and end homelessness for women and their families in the Triangle area. Participants will help move dirt, weed, water plants, and help plant some things. The garden is located at the Alexander Family YMCA off Hillsborough Street. Participants are encouraged to meet at Talley around 9:30 AM to head to the YMCA together.
