As part of the Graduate School‘s mission to support the professional development of graduate students, supported by Dean Maureen Grasso, the Graduate School brings the 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) program to NC State. 3MT aims to help graduate students orient and present their dissertation research in a clear, legible, and concise way.
Founded by the University of Queensland, the science-based competition challenges students to present their work in one powerpoint slide, in three minutes to a naive audience. An expert panel of judges will select 1st and 2nd place and the audience will select people’s choice, all of which are cash prizes.
The first annual 3MT competition began October 13th until the 15th as preliminary rounds before the final competition which will be held on October 28th, 3pm-5pm, in Talley Student Union Ballroom.
