The Student Government Equity and Accessibility Department is a dedicated group of students who advocate for underrepresented students on campus. We support the Trans-Inclusive and Mental Health syllabi clauses, are advocating for online diversity competency training for incoming students, and are working towards making campus more accessible.

Davion Washington, Jr. is a PhD Student in the Department of Sociology here at NC State University, focusing on a concentration in Race, Racism, and Anti-Racism. Davion holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Sociology with a triple minor in History, Political Science, and Popular Culture. Along with his passion for equity and accessibility is his passion for Higher Education and Student Development, which makes up a large part of his research focus. Davion’s ultimate goal is to ensure that all members of the Student Government are acting ambassadors of equity and accessibility throughout our campus community. Outside of his roles as Director and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Sociology, Davion enjoys music, gaming, and all things Marvel and Star Wars! Davion looks forward to serving the student body in this position, and is excited to increase the membership of the Equity and Accessibility Department, which is always accepting new members!
