The Student Wellness Department is tasked with advocating on issues related to student wellness. Working alongside Student Health, the Counseling Center, University Wellness and Recreation, University Dining, and the Wellness Advisory Board, this Department is committed to bridging the gap between wellness related campus entities and meaningful student input.

Ria is a sophomore majoring in Genetics and minoring in Global Health and Ethics here at NC State. Prior to attending State she has served in various leadership positions such as Co-Founder/Director of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Project Engage and Director of Press and Publications of GS Model UN, so she looks forward to bringing her skills and experience to Student Government.

As someone personally interested in how greater systems can impact individual health, Ria is committed to acting as a liaison between the student body and people in positions of power to ensure every voice is heard to improve wellness on various fronts. She is determined to expand the definition of health past physical health and make the health resources already available on campus more accessible to all students, especially social and mental health resources. She looks forward to working with students, faculty, staff, and more to ensure that each community member of NC State is equipped with the tools to take control of their own health and wellness. If you have any particular questions, concerns, or ideas regarding any of the elements of wellness (purpose, financial, physical, emotional, social, or community) please send me an email or drop into office hours!
