The Future of Food – Guest speaker

Cellular agriculture is the revolutionary new science of making animal products – meat, dairy, eggs, and more – from cell cultures instead of animals. With the debut of the world’s first animal-free meatballs and chicken strips in the past year, cellular agriculture is poised to usher in a more humane, healthy, and sustainable food system.

On Wednesday, April 19, the NCSU Cellular Agriculture Society will host a video talk by Isha Datar, executive director of New Harvest, a nonprofit helping to accelerate innovation in cellular agriculture. Isha will discuss the science of creating animal products from cell cultures, the many benefits of overhauling our food system, and key role New Harvest is playing in the making of an animal-free bioeconomy.
