Student Government Budget Process
The annual Student Government Budget is proposed by the Student Body Treasurer as a budget bill to the Student Senate in February every year. After the budget is submitted to the Senate, the Treasury Branch in collaboration with the Student Senate Committee on Finance, hosts Student Government Budget Town Halls to hear feedback and concerns and answer questions from the student body. Once the Town Halls are completed, the Finance Committee reviews, amends (if necessary), votes on whether to send the budget back to the full Student Senate with a favorable or unfavorable review. Once the budget comes back to the full Student Senate, it is heard for the second and last time for final questions, debate, and final voting. If passed by the Student Senate, the budget bill goes to the Student Body President for their signature or veto.
