Student Senate President

The Student Senate President serves as the leader of the Legislative Branch, is responsible for enacting all legislation passed by the Student Senate, and assists the Student Body President in advocacy efforts on behalf of the Student Body. They co-chair the Fee Review Committee alongside the Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs, and are a member of the NC State Delegation to the UNC Association of Student Governments.

Caroline Miranda (they/them) is a third year student majoring in Science, Technology, and Society. They are from the Charlotte area and are an alum of the North Carolina School of Science and Math, where they served as Student Senate President. In Caroline’s first year at NC State, they served as a First Year Student Senator, Zero Waste Wolfpack, and University Activities Board. They are a member of the University Honors Program and Catholic Campus Ministry.


As a second year, Caroline was elected Student Senate President Pro Tempore and served as the liaison between Student Government and the Staff and Faculty Senates. Now serving as Student Senate President, they chair the Student Senate and are an advocate for their fellow students. Caroline enjoys crocheting, knitting, and going to community dance classes. They are excited to serve the student body this year and are looking forward to advocating for students and mentoring the next generation of student leaders in their new role.
