Gender & Equity Research Symposium

The NC State Women’s Center is excited to invite all students (undergraduate and graduate level) to submit poster proposals for the 2017 Gender & Equity Research Symposium.

The Gender & Equity Research Symposium is an initiative of the Women’s Center to provide our community of scholars an opportunity to present their scholarly research. In our first year, we are only offering the poster presentation format. Accepted posters are printed by the Women’s Center.

Posters should address gender, intersectional identity, and equity in research. Students who are completing research this semester are encouraged to apply. Examples of research include race, gender, class, ableism, and orientation, as well as the use of critical and feminist theories. Scholars from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Proposals should include an abstract of no more than 150 words and a proposal of no more than 800 words. Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017. Proposal applicants are informed of their presentation status by Tuesday, March 28, 2017. After peer-review, the Women’s Center will contact the first author regarding each acceptance. The first author will be responsible for passing along pertinent information to any co-authors, including deadlines, acceptance decisions, and logistics information about the poster session.

The Gender & Equity Research Symposium held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 10am – 3pm in Talley Student Union, Room 3285. Please contact acgay@ncsu.edu with any questions. Visit the facebook event page for updated event information https://www.facebook.com/events/1647343855571854/
