Bio

Second-year Master’s degree student, Landscape Architecture

“I grew up in a hardworking agricultural family in Sinaloa, Mexico, where I saw firsthand the harsh realities of the Cartel War. However, education became my shining light of hope. I pursued my Master Degree in Landscape Architecture at NCSU, a journey that led me across five continents, exposing me to global challenges and the transformative power of community spaces. I noticed a significant lack of diversity in my field, so I researched the issue and shared my findings at a national conference, pushing for more inclusivity. Working on projects like Moore Square Park in Downtown Raleigh taught me how crucial trust and empathy are in design.

Now, as a graduate student senate, I’m focused on bridging gaps and promoting equity and inclusivity in all my efforts. My experiences have molded me into a bold advocate for positive change, dedicated to creating spaces that bring people together, inspire them, and elevate communities around the world.”
