Campus Tuition

Every year, the Tuition Review Advisory Committee (TRAC) [Co-Chaired by Provost Arden and Student Body President Isaac Carreno] prepare a one-year plan for tuition increases for the next fiscal year.

Tuition Increase Guidelines for 2026-27

The UNC System Board of Governors is allowing tuition increase proposals for the following groups:

  • Undergraduate Residents
  • Undergraduate Non-Residents
  • Graduate Residents
  • Graduate Non-Residents

Allocation of Tuition Increases:

The committee is considering tuition increases for the following groups at the following rates:

  • Undergraduate Residents, up to a 3% increase
  • Undergraduate Non-Residents, market rate
  • Graduate Residents, market rate
  • Graduate Non-Residents, market rate

Tuition is allocated into four categories: (1) Need based financial aid, (2) Graduate Student Support Plan, (3) Improve Quality and Accessibility, and (4) Faculty Promotional Increases. The Board of Governors has mandated that tuition increases cannot be allocated toward Need Based Financial Aid.

Premium Tuition Recommendations 2026-27

Premium tuition is an additional program-specific rate that students in that program pay. The premium tuition adds on to the base tuition amount. The tuition review advisory committee approved premium tuition amounts for the following programs:

Master of Science in Wide Bandgap Semiconductors

  • A premium tuition increase of $4,800 per year.

Master of Science in Global One Health

  • A premium tuition increase of $5,600/year

Master of Science in Cybersecurity

  • A premium tuition increase of $5,600/year

Master of Agricultural Business Management

  • A premium tuition increase of $5,400/year
