The Student Wellness Department is tasked with advocating on issues related to student wellness. Working alongside Student Health, the Counseling Center, University Wellness and Recreation, University Dining, and the Wellness Advisory Board, this Department is committed to bridging the gap between wellness related campus entities and meaningful student input.
Co-Directors of Wellness Lou Lou Batta (she/her/hers) and Michael Bowen (he/him/his)
Co-Director LouLou Batta is a junior majoring in Chemistry. LouLou has been involved on campus as the an Orientation Leader as well as Diversity Activities Board Chair within University Activities Board. She has worked closely with OIED, the GLBT Center as well as the Women’s Center. In addition to her leadership roles on campus, LouLou is also a Goodnight Scholar.
Co-Director Michael Bowen is a senior studying Chemical Engineering and Economics, with minors in Spanish and Accounting. As a Wellness Champion, Mental Health Ambassador, and Co-Director of Wellness, he is heavily involved with initiatives the Stop the Stigma initiative, with most of his current projects geared towards outreach and education of freshman and first-year students. Otherwise, he divides his time between undergraduate research, playing soccer, and volunteering
