Sustainability

The Department of Sustainability is dedicated to the enhancement of sustainability and work towards the development of a more sustainable culture on NC State’s campus. Our team collaborates with our fellow Executive Branch Departments, Faculty, Staff, and Student Senate, and student organizations to implement high-impact initiatives in order to make our university the most sustainable it can be.

Current Initiatives

Single-Use Plastics Task Force

A campus-wide initiative to reduce the use of non-essential single use plastics on NC State campus by working with Staff Senate, Sustainability Office, and campus administrators.

Sustainability Education and Outreach

Working with DASA and Sustainability Office to create a Sustainability-focus mandatory education for all incoming students, faculty, and staff.

Waste Management in Greek Village

A collaboration with the Executive Department of University Affairs to introduce comprehensive waste management through service and updated facilities.

Sustainability Suggestion Form

The SG Sustainability Department wants to connect students, student groups, and administrators to accomplish projects. The Sustainability Suggestion form gives students and the NC State community an opportunity to describe an idea that the department or the entire campus could explore.
